Making your own "G-10" & Trailing Edge Material!

Have you ever wondered how some scale modelers have such razor sharp trailing edges on their flying surfaces? Have you heard of something called "G-10" being used for aircraft flap material or trailing edge stiffener?

Polymer Composites has put together a brief video of how you can easily make your own G-10 material, inexpensively and designed around your personal needs. It also briefly provides the science behind lamination lay-ups for those of you who want to drill a little deeper into the topic.

The technique shown in the video uses four (4) layers of 9oz glass to insure a flat surface. These techniques can be use with other shapes to produce your desired results. Also different  fiberglass weight/weave used will also allow you to further customize the applied application.
